Rest for the Wicked? aka How to beat the jet lag

From heading home for breaks to traveling for holidays; jet lag is killer. There's nothing worse than getting to a new place and not getting everything you want done because you are exhausted.

Here are a few tips that have helped me survive the

8 hour time difference when I travel home.

1. Don’t go to sleep until its night where you are visiting!

The first step is to wait until local time to go to sleep. That way you will wake up when its still morning.

It speeds up the adjustment and will majorly help get you out the door .

2. Sleep on the plane!

this one seems like a no brainier, but make sure you sleep on the plane! while its tempting to stay up all flight and watch all the cool movies or maybe catch up on some uni work, make sure to get a little shut eye in. Invest in an good eye mask and plug in your headphones, your body will thank you!

3. Don't take naps!

Try not to take any naps once you get to your destination. As tempting as it is; it will keep you from adjusting to the local time. Save the naps for after your first full night sleep, or at least your attempt at a full nights sleep.

I've found it usually takes about 7 days for every hour difference so don’t worry if you find it takes a few days.
