Kingdom of Bahrain Celebrate Independence Day between the 16th until the 17th of December 2019. Although, the original Independence Day is on the 15th August. Bahrain located on the Persian Gulf, the country is made up of a group of islands between the Qatar peninsula and the north eastern coast of Saudi Arabia. Bahrain is an island country located near the western shores of the Persian Gulf in the Middle East. Bahrain is the only Island state in the Middle East, and the smallest Gulf Member. Bahrain celebrate the 16th of December instead of the 15th of August because it’s the first coronation day for the first president.

During the Bronze Age, Bahrain became home to the Dilmun civilisation. This made the country an important trade centre that linked Mesopotamia and the Indus Valley. The Assyrians and Babylonians later ruled Bahrain.

Bahrain is a tiny island situated in the Gulf region. Being a small country Bahrain has many beautiful beaches which are a major attraction. Bahrain is traditionally famous for its pearls.

Queen Elizabeth had the Bahrain pearl drop earrings made in 1947 shortly after she received seven large pearls in a pearl shell from the ruler of Bahrain as a wedding gift. The golden age of pearling was between the 1850's and 1930.

For most of the 19th century and earlier, pearls were the most valuable gemstone known to man, worth far more than diamonds. Buyers such as Jacques Cartier travelled to the small islands of Bahrain, where pearls were the principal economy. There were around 30,000 divers, who worked by holding their breath. Their only equipment was a nose peg, leather finger stalls for protection against coral, a weighted rope and a bag. Bahrain was known as “The Pearling Center” in the world, and it had benefited for decades from its pearling industry, which was the principal source of the country’s revenues. French jeweller, Cartier, came in 1912 to buy pearls.

Jewellery designers in Bahrain merge between the gold, and the silver also in some stores they excel between merging objects and gold. In one of the jewellery stores in Manama they created a necklace made of wood and gold, the price will be staring from 400GBP. Tracery on silver or gold is also part of the jewellery designers there.
