Move in : what to do when you get there

Ah yes, the dreaded move in. Moving is never fun. The stress of making sure nothing important has been forgotten is always there. Don't worry we are here to help! Here are some helpful tips to help your move in go smoothly!!

Moving into Halls

Welcome to Halls! The great thing about living in halls is once you check into the reception its pretty straightforward! You will receive your keys and then you can go up to your room. Make sure to make note of where laundry and the mailboxes are before you head up.

As to what to bring, always be conscious of when you are getting in. If you are planning on purchasing bedding and bath stuff once you move in make sure you have plenty of time before the shops close at 5, or make sure to bring a blanket and a small pillow to tide you over until the next morning.

I also recommend bringing an adapter with you if you need one, and make sure to get the WiFi info!

Private Accommodation

First time renting? Don't worry we've got your back!

There is a few more things to worry about when moving into private. To get your keys you will need to schedule a meeting with the landlord or pick them up from the letting agency, remember to call and make sure which you are doing! Remember to ask about utilities and rubbish (garbage) before you move in so you don't have an awkward moment with losing utilities! Also remember you will need to set up WiFi, and ask your Uni about counsel tax exemption.

Alright that's a good start, now you get to make your space your own!
